The artist, Irving Gumb, his father, Dana F. Gumb, and Galaxy pose with
Irving's portrait of Galaxy, completed in March, 2007. The portrait, which
was commissioned by the senior Mr. Gumb, now hangs in the Northern Virginia
Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons in Fairfax, VA. Galaxy
is a Hearing Dog, having been specially trained to assist hard of hearing and
deaf persons to assist them in their daily lives.

Norman Lemley examines his portrait following a June, 2007 ceremony in which
the Northeast Maritime Institute in Fairhaven, MA dedicated its new classroom
building to him in honor of his maritime safety record and his years of
service in the U.S. Coast Guard. The portrait, by Irving Gumb, depicts Lemley
in his Coast Guard dress uniform as Captain and hangs in the newly dedicated
building which is now called Lemley Hall.
